The Technical Sales Specialist – Silicone Masterbatches & Specialty Additives will lead the commercial development and technical implementation of the product portfolio throughout Mexico and Spanish-speaking Latin America.
This role combines strategic business development with hands-on technical application support. The successful candidate must be capable of identifying and closing new commercial opportunities while also conducting customer trials, troubleshooting processing issues, optimizing formulations, and delivering technical presentations and evaluations at customer facilities.
The role will be based in Monterrey, Mexico, serving as the commercial hub while leveraging the technical and manufacturing capabilities of the Ramos Arizpe Plant as a regional manufacturing and development platform. The role will be instrumental in positioning Monterrey and Ramos Arizpe as the commercial and technical center for specialty additive technologies in Latin America.
What You'll Be Doing:

- Develop and execute a strategic LATAM growth plan for silicone masterbatches, PPSi® materials, and specialty additive technologies.
- Grow and maintain existing and new customer relationships
- Identify and close sales opportunities at core or existing accounts
- Identify and close sales opportunities by acquiring new customers
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across: Wire & cable, Automotive, Pipe & fittings, Compounding, Film & sheet, Injection molding, Consumer goods
- Capture, curate and market intelligence including competitive developments, product performance, market trends, etc.
- Work with product managers to build a business case for new product developments
- Deliver techno-commercial presentations to new and existing customers
- Keep CRM (Salesforce.com) tool up to date and communicate to leadership on a weekly basis via written technical reports and conference calls.
- Champion reporting and resolution of quality concerns
- Participate in relevant trade conferences and shows to increase company and product awareness
- Develop and report monthly forecasts, annual sales budgets and expense budgets
- Expected to travel >50% of the time to maintain strong customer engagements
- Occasional international travel including United States and China for training, technical meetings, or strategic customer support.
- Represent SACO AEI Polymers in a professional and respectful manner
- Serve as commercial champion for a defined market segment
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in: Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in: Technical sales, Application development, Polymer additives, Masterbatches, Compounding, Wire & cable materials
- 5-10 years of working in similar industry, plastic industry, wire and cable, automotive and LATAM industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of: Polymer extrusion processes, Silicone masterbatch technologies, Polyolefins and specialty additives, Polymer compounding and processing technologies, Processing aids and surface modifiers.
- Experience conducting plant trials and troubleshooting extrusion processes.
- The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be service-oriented, be self-directed, and be able to interface effectively with manufacturing and R&D teams.
- Skills associated with selling a technical product line while delivering unique value propositions to customers
- Existing relationships within Mexico and LATAM polymer, wire & cable, or compounding industries.
- Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up or localization projects.
- Experience in developing strong customer relationships at all levels and leverage them to close business
- Experience growing new application segments and introducing new differentiated products to customers
- Experience managing technical-commercial projects from concept through commercialization
- Experience in developing territory plans and executing on highest priorities

- Comfortable in remote home office and/or customer environments
- Customer-Centric: Focus on identifying customer needs and providing customized solutions, including high-performance compounds for specific applications such as automotive, energy, and building infrastructure.
- Possesses knowledge of the UL/IEC/ABNT/IRAM/ANCE/ISO/Automotive wire & cable market and specifications
- Knowledgeable of local regulations, standards and certification requirements for polymers and compounds
- Understanding of regional market dynamics: The Technical Sales Specialist must possess in-depth knowledge of the LATAM region, including key industries such as automotive, infrastructure, energy, and wire & cable and plastics injection molding.
- Able to identify new wire and cable business segments and develop customers for new differentiated products
- Experience selling or being part of wire & cable manufacturers and OEMs
- Familiar with selling XLPE, LSZH, CPE, TPU, EPR, among other compounds into Wire & Cable applications. Plastic Additives, Pipe and/or Film Industry experience a plus.
- Experience with: Wire & cable compounds, XLPE systems, HFFR/LSZH materials, Automotive compounds, TPSiV/PPSi® technologies
