About the Company
We are a fast-growing international manufacturing company specializing in toll processing (maquila) operations in Mexico.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Local Finance Associate to join our local team and play a key role in supporting the financial control and growth of our operations.
Position Overview
The Local Finance Associate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of the Mexico plant, including accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and alignment with corporate objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cost accounting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with Mexican GAAP and internal policies.
Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Mexican tax obligations, including:
- VAT (IVA)
- Corporate Income Tax (ISR)
- Payroll taxes
- IMMEX/maquiladora-related tax requirements
Financial Planning
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Analyze variances and support operational cost control initiatives.
Treasury
- Manage cash flow, banking operations, and relationships with financial institutions.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with the IMMEX program and other applicable regulations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
Cost & Inventory Control
- Support inventory management and cost control activities related to maquila operations.
Business Support
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to analyze financial performance.
- Provide financial analysis, reports, and recommendations to local management and corporate headquarters in China.
RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience in manufacturing or maquiladora companies is preferred.
- Knowledge of IMMEX operations is highly desirable.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Mexican accounting standards (Mexican GAAP).
- Knowledge of Mexican tax regulations.
- Experience supporting foreign manufacturing companies in Mexico.
Technical Skills
- Experience using ERP systems such as U9, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills.
Sueldo: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 al mes
