As the Head of EHS, Quality, and Security (EQS) at our Power Transformers Guanajuato facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring business continuity and driving manufacturing excellence. This senior leadership position is responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the integrated EQS function, safeguarding compliance, and upholding the highest quality standards in a key manufacturing plant.
You will lead a dedicated team, manage the Quality Management System (QMS), and oversee all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS) compliance activities. Your expertise will be essential in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, regulatory adherence, and operational excellence.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Strategic EQS Leadership & Management
- Develop and execute the short to mid-term (1–3 years) functional strategy for the EHS, Quality, and Security department, aligning with overall plant objectives.

Lead, mentor, and manage the EQS department, including subordinate managers and professional staff, to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.

Manage the departmental budget, allocate resources effectively, and report on EQS performance metrics to executive leadership.

Influence senior plant leadership and other departments to adopt and support EQS policies, practices, and improvement initiatives.
Quality Management & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9000 series standards, customer requirements, and internal policies.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency.

Lead investigations into complex quality issues, direct root cause analysis, and ensure the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Manage the supplier quality program, including vendor audits, performance monitoring, and resolution of supplier-related quality issues.
EHS & Security Compliance
- Ensure the facility’s full compliance with all applicable local, national, and international Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.

Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate EHS and security risks within the manufacturing environment.

Oversee internal and external audits for EHS and security, managing corrective action plans to address any findings.

Promote a strong safety and security culture through targeted training, communication programs, and visible leadership.
What You Bring
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in quality and EHS management within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.

At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role with responsibility for departmental strategy, budget, and team leadership.
Skills & Competencies
Strategic Leadership: Influencing skills, change management, budgeting.
Quality & Process Management: Quality control, continuous improvement process, root cause analysis, supplier quality management.
Compliance & Risk Management: ISO 9001, 45001, 27001, regulatory compliance, internal auditing, risk management.
