Senior Program Engineer
Objective:
The Component Engineering department is a shared engineering service which manages & supports ensuring the successful launch in the Components and EDS programs.
Responsibilities
- Process Cost BOM´s for Cost Studies, Cost Concern Matrices, Cost only Concerns, and Print Distribution for Components & EDS programs.
- Provide advanced information to manufacturing plants (advanced BOMS/prints/material specs)
- Identify new components based on customer drawings, BOM´s, material specs.
- Ensure all parts are set up in advance on time (MAPS) for new components, for new programs and current production.
- Management of activities to obtain new component samples or resin samples for prototype builds, engineering changes and product validation.
- Coordinate with design team and suppliers, activities for testing
- Coordinate validation process to ship prototype samples to customers for approval.
- Facilitate Print clarifications/resolution between customer/design/manufacturing plants (including DFMs and Alerts and Deviations).
- Maintain updated Program Parts list, PM Dashboard and Part Action Tracker Folders.
- Management of Engineering Changes (new revisions) requested by customer/design/supplier for upcoming builds or Running Changes.
- Collect and share all the information and files needed for quoting.
- Create Request for Purchase once quoting process is complete.
- Launch Readiness APQP support (Components and EDS) - includes meeting support and tasks and actions required to ensure safe Pre-Production builds and Launch.
- Create and maintain timing plans to meet customer build phases.
- Deliver to OPM on time all the information required for CAPEX and RAS.
- Master Sample Signoff support.
- Elaborate RFQ´s for tooling/assemblies.
- Create Tooling summary for financial review, considering necessaries adders for the development of tool/assembly.
- Support the Manufacturing Program Management Gate Review Process and attend Gate Reviews and "Go to Gemba" events that are scheduled for assigned programs.
- Support A/R objectives where-by any customer reimbursed tooling that is PPAP’d.
- Flawless launches and builds without escalation to PKC Customer Director for assigned projects and programs.
- Receive invoices on system.
- Manage Supplier Tooling kick off, providing prints and CAD data.
- Process Requests for Purchasing to create PO´s on system.
- Oversee and Manage assigned projects from ‘cradle to grave’ by creating overall workplans for all relative tasks among cross functional departments
- Lead CFT meetings to track and drive program issues to closure.
- Interact with CFT including but not limited to OPM, Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing plant personnel, purchasing, suppliers and customers.
- Supervise the calibration and verification activities of the instruments, equipment and devices used in the company, as well as the system to manage them.
- Record laboratory activities to ensure compliance with the objectives assigned to the department.
- Collaborate and participate in internal and external IATF audits.
- Manage and supervise the preparation and completion of annual recertification plan, layout reports, first article for new projects and engineering changes.
- Develop, train and guide the metrology technicians. Follow up on the detection of training needs.
- Manage and Supervise the Calibration Program for inspection, measurement and testing equipment.
- Collaborate with Design Team to create/release new components drawings.
- Develop new Harness Prints to the Manufacturing Plant.
- Comply with and ensure compliance with PKC Group's Environment, Health and Safety Policy and Energy Policy.
- Comply with the environmental, health, safety and energy requirements set forth in Federal, State and Municipal legislation and applicable regulations related to our activities and products to comply with the EMASS (Energy, Environment, Health and Safety) procedures inherent to their work position.
Contribute to the effectiveness of the Energy, Environment, Health and Safety Management System, including the achievement of the EMASS Objectives and Goals.
