About the Role
This is a remote, full-time sales and acquisitions position with a small, family-owned real estate investment company based in Central Illinois. You will be speaking with homeowners who have already raised their hand. They came to us. That means you are not cold calling strangers. You are following up with people who are already open to a conversation.
Your job is to build trust, understand their situation, guide them through their options, and help them make a decision that is right for them. Sometimes that means we are their solution. Sometimes we are not. Either way, you represent this company with honesty and care.
You will be trained on proven conversation frameworks and scripts that actually work. The goal is not to read them word for word. The goal is to internalize them well enough that they become second nature. The best conversations in this role feel like two people genuinely talking, not a rep working through a checklist. We coach you until it sounds like you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Responding to inbound and warm leads and starting genuine conversations
- Building rapport quickly and making sellers feel heard and understood
- Asking the right questions to understand each homeowner's situation and goals
- Walking sellers through their options with clarity and without pressure
- Following up consistently and professionally until a decision is made
- Scheduling and conducting phone and virtual appointments
- Negotiating fair solutions that work for both the seller and our company
- Keeping your pipeline organized using our CRM system every single day
- Communicating clearly with our internal team throughout the process
- Continuously improving your skills through weekly coaching and feedback
Who This Is a Great Fit For
You do not have to have a real estate background, however, it is a major bonus. What matters more is who you are and how you show up.
- You are a natural communicator. People open up to you and feel comfortable quickly.
- You are emotionally intelligent. You can read a conversation and adjust your tone without being told to.
- You are fluent in English and confident speaking on the phone or video call.
- You can take a framework or talking guide and deliver it in a way that sounds completely natural, not rehearsed.
- You take ownership. If something is not going well, you figure out why and you fix it.
- You are coachable. You welcome feedback because you know it makes you better.
- You are self-motivated. You do not need someone checking on you to stay on task in a remote environment.
- You are honest. You would rather lose a deal than mislead someone.
- You are patient. You understand that people in difficult situations need time, not pressure.
- You have proven experience in sales, customer service, or a relationship-driven role.
Who This Is NOT a Fit For
We would rather be upfront now than waste your time or ours.
- If you need a word-for-word script in front of you to feel confident and it shows in your voice, this role will be a struggle. We train with scripts, but the delivery needs to sound like you.
- If you are motivated purely by the close and do not genuinely care about the person on the other end, this is not the right culture.
- If you struggle with accountability or need constant supervision to stay productive working remotely, this will be a frustrating experience for everyone.
- If difficult conversations make you go quiet or avoidant, this role will be a poor fit. Our sellers are often in real hardship. That requires emotional steadiness.
- If you are not comfortable managing your own schedule, follow-ups, and pipeline without being reminded, you will struggle here.
Compensation
Base salary: $1,600 USD per month, paid in USD equivalent.
In addition to the base, there is a performance-based bonus structure tied to closed deals. The more consistently you build relationships, follow up, and help sellers find solutions, the more you earn. There is no ceiling on what is possible.
We are upfront about compensation because we respect your time. If this range does not work for your situation, that is okay. We would rather you know now.
