Ama de Llaves / Head Housekeeper – Private Villa

Job Description
Rae’s Tulum is seeking a responsible, proactive and experienced Ama de Llaves / Head Housekeeper to oversee the day-to-day care and presentation of our private eight-bedroom villa in Tulum.
This is a hands-on position within a small team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working independently, takes initiative and takes genuine pride in keeping a beautiful property clean, organised and well maintained.
Responsibilities
- General cleaning and day-to-day care of the villa
- Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas and common spaces to a high standard
- Manage laundry, linens and towels
- Maintain inventory of dishes, glassware, linens, household items, guest amenities and cleaning supplies
- Inspect and report missing or damaged items following guest stays
- Monitor supplies and advise management when items need to be purchased or replaced
- Regularly inspect the villa and report maintenance or repair requirements
- Coordinate and follow up with the grounds/maintenance person
- Coordinate approved trades and service providers when required
- Ensure repairs and maintenance are completed properly
- Prepare and inspect the villa before guest arrivals
- Clean, inspect and reset the property following departures
- Coordinate additional housekeeping support when required
- Act as the primary on-site contact for guests during their stay
- Communicate regularly with villa owner and management regarding the property, guests, inventory, damages and maintenance
Requirements
- Previous experience in private villas, residences, luxury housekeeping or similar property care
- Strong housekeeping and laundry experience
- Proactive and comfortable working independently
- Responsible, trustworthy and dependable
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- Comfortable coordinating a small team and maintenance personnel
- Professional and discreet around guests and private belongings
- Spanish and English required
- Must live in Tulum or the surrounding area
- Verifiable professional references required
- Flexible availability around guest arrivals and departures
