- Prepares, loads and solders printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Soldering and rework of integrated circuits and CCAs, including jumpers if necessary.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of the hot air rework station
- Fabricates wire harnesses and various cable assemblies.
- Mechanical assembly of panels, test boxes and chassis.
- Assembles and cables modules and racks.
- Wire wrapping and assembly of prototype boards.
- Performs special tasks.
- Principal contact is with engineers and engineering technicians, planners and stockroom personnel.
- HS diploma and basic electronic training, or experience in an engineering environment.
- 5-8 years experience in an engineering prototype environment.
- Visual acuity required.
- Can read blueprints, wiring diagrams, wire lists, sketches, schematics.
- Must be able to lead and train in all phases of assembly, and maintain leadership role in the absence of the supervisor or manager.
- Skilled and experienced in the use of all assembly tools and equipment.
- Hand tools such as cutters and wire strippers
- Skilled and experienced in all areas of electrical and mechanical assembly.
- Certified in all areas of assembly, safety and handling of hazardous chemicals (solder, ESD, IC handling, etc.).
- Fully cognizant of all proto lab ISO procedures.
