Procurement Specialist – Nursing Home Company
Hours: 9am-5pm EST
Pay: $1200 USD Monthly
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support the purchasing needs of our nursing home facilities. This role will be responsible for coordinating orders, communicating with vendors, monitoring costs, and ensuring each facility has the supplies and materials needed to operate efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing and ordering for multiple nursing home facilities.
- Process purchase requests and purchase orders accurately and on time.
- Source and communicate with vendors to obtain competitive pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
- Purchase supplies across departments, including nursing, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, office, and general operations.
- Compare vendor pricing and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Track orders from placement through delivery and follow up on delayed, missing, or incorrect shipments.
- Maintain organized records of purchases, invoices, vendor information, and pricing.
- Monitor purchasing activity to ensure departments remain within approved budgets.
- Coordinate with facility administrators and department heads regarding purchasing needs and priorities.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and assist with negotiating pricing and purchasing terms.
- Identify recurring supply needs and help prevent shortages or unnecessary last-minute purchases.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related administrative role.
- Healthcare, nursing home, or multi-location purchasing experience is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with multiple vendors, orders, facilities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and purchasing or inventory management systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent requests, and follow through on outstanding items.
- Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment when comparing pricing, vendors, and purchasing options.
