As part of Eaton's Operating For Growth transformation, we are seeking a highly motivated expert contributor to join our Functional Excellence team being responsible for deploying, supporting, and standardizing machine connectivity across manufacturing sites to enable Operations 4 Growth initiatives.
Eaton will be deploying a common, scalable and standard approach on machine connectivity across the enterprise, this initiative is a foundation element on assuring we can capture the right and near real time data to enable a strong end to end digital strategy which will ultimately improve the decision making process based on real time data, allowing a better usage of our people's intellectual property to drive continuous improvement on our sites towards achieving manufacturing excellence.
The OT Engineer will act an ambassador for driving consistent and standard deployment of our machine connectivity strategy. This role will collaborate closely with MES Global Process Owners, IT and site teams to ensure the necessary organizational skills are in place. This role involves developing and enforcing machine connectivity policies to ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across all sites following Eaton's standards.
This role focuses on connecting industrial equipment to the OT network and data platforms in compliance with OT architecture, cybersecurity, and IT/OT integration standards, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure data acquisition from shopfloor assets.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct support of key programs, ensuring on-time completion of OT activities within the overall pogram, guiding and supporting plant teams on machine connectivity and data acquisition activities
- Drive maximizing solution standardization across the enterprise, ensuring integration and adherence to industry best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure machine connectivity solutions aligns with business goals and industry standards.
- Communicate and implement standard processes, also identify issues during implementation, defining actions to address it together with OT Leader.
- Promote machine connectivity adoption, escalating risks and acts as gate keeper for process governance.
- Raise the need for machine connectivity training, ensuring site stakeholders are aware of their role in the process, and proper knowledge is assimilated by each site, business and/or region.
- Reinforce the deployment of machine connectivity playbooks, best practices and lessons learned sharing across the enterprise to drive smooth machine connectivity implementation, refining and mature the OT hardwarde standard lists and supporting on evaluating non-starndard requests for OT solutions
- Expected 20-25% travel including international as determined by implementation roadmap and business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams/resources to execute projects – plant leadership, Information Technology, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, Facilities and Engineering.
