Launch Material Planner

Purpose of the Position
Ensure timely availability and proper management of materials during new program launches or engineering changes, minimizing production disruptions and ensuring alignment between suppliers, plant operations, and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor material supply for launch programs.
- Ensure materials are available in time, quantity, and quality to support production start-up.
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm deliveries and resolve supply risks.
- Monitor critical inventories and execute preventive actions to avoid shortages.
- Track engineering changes (ECOs) and ensure proper implementation across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Logistics to align requirements.
- Identify and escalate supply risks that may impact the launch plan.
- Participate in launch readiness meetings and provide updates on critical materials.
- Generate tracking reports (KPIs) related to material compliance, delays, and inventory levels.
- Support transition from launch phase to steady-state operations.
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time delivery of materials.
- Number of critical shortages during launch.
- Inventory levels (days of coverage).
- Supplier performance during launch phase.
- Accuracy of material plan vs. actual consumption.
- Response time to supply risks.
Position Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
Experience:
- 2–5 years in materials planning, supply chain, or similar role.
- Prior experience in product launches or industrial projects (preferred).
Technical Knowledge:
- Materials Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Inventory and supply chain management.
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Bill of Materials (BOM) interpretation.
- Engineering change management (ECOs).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis).
