We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer to support a large Wealth Management firm operating within a broker-dealer model. The position centers on Mainframe development for Retirement planning functionality, combining new development as the main focus with production support duties.
Responsibilities

Design and deliver new Mainframe development initiatives supporting Retirement planning functionality

Provide production support to ensure the stability and reliability of Mainframe applications

Diagnose and resolve common Job Abends in the Mainframe environment quickly
-
Troubleshoot complex production issues by applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a Scrum-based delivery model
-
Utilize Problem Management tools such as ServiceNow to track and resolve incidents
-
Work with Mainframe Job Schedulers to manage and monitor batch processes
-
Partner with business stakeholders in the Financial Services domain to deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs
Requirements

3+ years of experience in Mainframe development

Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2
-
Expertise in VSAM and IBM MQ

Capability to quickly resolve common Job Abends in Mainframe

Showcase of strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
-
Familiarity with IT Service Management practices

Hands-on background in Problem Management tools, preferably ServiceNow
-
Background in working with Mainframe Job Schedulers

Understanding of the Financial Services domain

Skills in operating within a Scrum environment

Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have

Knowledge of CICS, Assembler, and IDMS/IMS development or support

Familiarity with debugging tools including EXPEDITOR, ABENDAID, TELON, and FileAid

Qualifications in ISPW, Topaz, or Compuware

ITIL certification, together with exposure to Atlassian Jira and Scaled Agile Framework
