We are looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer to join a growing operation in the harnessing industry. This position will serve as a key procurement representative, ensuring the continuous supply of critical components while developing sourcing strategies, managing suppliers, reducing costs, and supporting new product introductions.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for wire harness commodities, including wire, cable, connectors, terminals, plastic housings, molded components, protective coverings, and associated hardware.

Identify, qualify, and develop local, regional, and global suppliers.

Lead RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and long-term agreements.

Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Identify alternate sources and substitute components in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.

Support NPI, engineering changes, supplier qualification, prototypes, and production ramp-ups.

Develop cost models, analyze quotations, and lead cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives.

Manage supplier capacity, capability, quality, delivery, and supply-chain risks.

Resolve material shortages and supply disruptions while supporting lead-time and inventory optimization.

Coordinate tooling, samples, PPAP submissions, and supplier qualification activities.

Maintain accurate procurement information within ERP systems.

Bachelors Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Engineering, or a related technical field.

5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 3 years of experience in the wiring harness industry, automotive electrical systems, electronics, EMS, or cable assembly products.

Strong knowledge of wire harness components and manufacturing processes.

Experience sourcing technical commodities and conducting supplier negotiations.

Experience supporting NPI, product launches, engineering changes, and supplier development.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and supplier quality processes.

Previous SAP experience required.

Advanced English required.

Availability to work 100% on-site in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.

Candidates from other regions of Mexico may be considered if they are open to relocation.
Experience within the automotive, commercial vehicle, industrial equipment, aerospace, or EV industries, particularly with wiring harness, connectors, cable, or electrical component manufacturers.
