Watershed is the enterprise sustainability platform. Companies like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens use Watershed to manage climate and ESG data, produce audit-ready metrics for voluntary and regulatory reporting including CSRD, and drive real decarbonization. We are looking for team members who love product-building, want to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.
We have offices in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Mexico City, and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!
Watershed is on a mission to drive meaningful climate action, and our Customer Data Services ("CDS") team plays a key role in making that possible. This team acts as data experts to some of the world’s largest and most influential companies, including Walmart, the Carlyle Group, and Stripe. The team helps customers understand Watershed’s data requirements, advises them on data best practices, transforms their data into Watershed’s templates, and documents the steps for traceability. This work gets customers’ data into the platform quickly and accurately, allowing them to spend more time on their sustainability goals.
As a Manager on the Customer Data Services team, you will lead a team of seven Data Specialists in the Mexico City branch of a globally distributed team. In this role, you will enable your team to deliver rigorous, high-quality data services to Watershed’s customers. In addition, you will own strategic initiatives that improve the quality and efficiency of how we deliver, including the integration of AI into the team’s workflows.
This is a unique opportunity to be an early leader within Watershed’s Mexico City office. As a key leader in this office, you will play a critical role in building an inclusive, supportive, and high-performance culture, not only for your team, but for the broader Mexico City office as a whole.
In this role, you will…
Lead and develop a high-performing team. You will coach, grow, and hold a high bar for a team of seven Data Specialists, most of them early in their careers.
Own what your team produces. You will own the team’s quality and responsiveness metrics, spot-check work, and build the review habits that keep our output error-free.
Coach your team on communication and customer-facing skills. You will review the customer communications, documentation, and presentations your team creates, coaching them on structure, tone, and delivery. When coverage is needed, you will step onto a customer call yourself.
Drive day-to-day team operations. You will help the team prioritize work, manage capacity and coverage across a growing book of customers, and remove blockers.
Support your team when they’re stuck. You will help Data Specialists think through data problems such as how to make a solution scale, where potential quality risks sit, and when to use certain tools. You will direct them to the right resources when the answer lives elsewhere.
Own strategic initiatives that raise the bar. Each quarter you will take on workstreams that improve the quality, efficiency, and value of the team’s work.
Lead your team through the AI transition. You will drive adoption and change management as AI reshapes how work gets done.
Foster cross-functional collaboration. You will represent your team with Sustainability Advisory, Customer Success, and Project Management leadership on shared initiatives.
Be an early leader in our Mexico City office. You will embody and champion Watershed’s operating principles, setting the tone for an inclusive, mission-driven, and high-performance team.
You are a great fit for this role if…
You bring 8+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years of demonstrated success managing a services, operations, or customer-facing team, typically in a consulting environment or within B2B SaaS.
You are a skilled manager who is motivated by coaching, hiring, and developing people who are early in their careers.
You are customer-obsessed. You know how to set a high bar for quality delivery and help your team reach it.
You are a strong operator who loves to get into the details, uses data to make decisions, and builds repeatable systems in high-growth environments.
You are an excellent communicator and can coach others to be one. You can explain a complex situation simply to a senior audience, and you know how to raise the standard for how a team writes and presents to customers. You are comfortable stepping onto a customer call to cover for someone on your team.
You are proficient in Excel. You can spot-check the accuracy of work, reconcile totals, and size the risk in a data decision. SQL and Python skills are a bonus.
You have experience leveraging AI to drive efficiency and amplify impact. You are comfortable leading a team through that kind of change.
You thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. You bring an ownership mentality, curiosity, and a bias to action in everything that you do.
You are fluent in written and verbal English.
Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)
Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where we have offices, employees are expected to be in office for 4 days per week. Certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description if so.
What’s the interview process like?
It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience interview (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
What if I need accommodations for my interview?
At Watershed, we are dedicated to ensuring an inclusive recruitment process. We provide reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, mental health needs, religious observances, neurodivergence, or pregnancy-related support requirements. If you need assistance during your process, please contact your recruiter.
