Technical Account Manager (Programmatic Advertising)
About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to support and grow our programmatic advertising business. As the technical expert for programmatic partnerships, you will work closely with buyers, agencies, sales teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize campaign performance, resolve technical challenges, and drive revenue growth across our premium inventory.
This role sits at the intersection of ad technology, client strategy, and programmatic operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for programmatic campaigns, supporting setup, execution, optimization, and troubleshooting across PG, PMP, and Open Market deals.
- Partner with sales teams and agency clients to develop effective deal strategies using audience, contextual, and platform capabilities.
- Monitor and optimize campaign performance through bid analysis, pacing, win-rate diagnostics, floor management, and inventory optimization.
- Provide strategic guidance to buyers on bidding, targeting, inventory access, and performance goals.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through targeting enhancements, format expansion, and supply path optimization.
- Act as the primary escalation point for technical issues involving DSPs, measurement partners, creative delivery, and third-party integrations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Client Success, Ad Operations, Product, and Inventory teams to ensure seamless campaign execution.
- Deliver performance insights, post-campaign analysis, and recommendations that support renewals and business growth.
- Support client presentations, RFP responses, and inventory forecasting with technical expertise and performance insights.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in programmatic advertising, digital media, ad tech, DSPs, trading desks, or publisher-side operations.
- Strong understanding of programmatic deal types, auction dynamics, bidding strategies, and campaign optimization.
- Experience working with major DSPs and SSPs, including troubleshooting and performance analysis.
- Knowledge of measurement solutions, brand safety, creative specifications, and data onboarding processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and reporting platforms such as Salesforce, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Passion for digital advertising, programmatic innovation, and the evolving audio, video, and podcast ecosystem.
