A day in the life
As a Instock Specialist at Amazon, you operate at the intersection of data, operations, and vendor
partnerships, ensuring seamless product availability and supply chain efficiency.
Your day involves analyzing inventory health dashboards, identifying risks in stock levels, and making data-
driven decisions on ordering parameters and forecast adjustments. You'll collaborate with Vendor
Managers and Vendor Specialists to align on promotional plans and product launches, ensuring
operational capacity can support growth initiatives without compromising customer experience.
Through CPFR meetings and vendor communications, you'll drive forecast accuracy, negotiate lead time
improvements, and resolve supply chain bottlenecks. You'll leverage Amazon's advanced tools and AI-
powered solutions to automate workflows, predict demand patterns, and optimize inventory decisions
while monitoring key metrics like SoROOS, vendor lead time, and excess inventory.
You'll participate in cross-functional reviews with Operations and Finance teams, contributing insights on
cost-to-serve opportunities, inbound process improvements, and fulfillment efficiency gains. This role
requires balancing multiple priorities—maintaining in-stock levels, reducing costs, improving speed, and
protecting profitability—while you grow as a professional, developing expertise in supply chain
management, data analytics, and operational excellence as you take on increasingly complex challenges
and deliver measurable results.
