The power of sport is at the heart of Nike’s DNA – with our mission to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world. The Social & Community Impact (SCI) team fulfils this mission by powering the Future Of Youth Sport across the enterprise.
The SCI Lead will work directly with the Director, Future of Youth Sport Americas and sit in the larger SCI Americas Team. They will work closely with SCI cross functional teams and with key partners across the Nike business, including Brand Marketing, Sports Marketing, CaSA Distributors and Nike Direct. They will also work directly with community partners and sport organizations external to Nike.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The SCI Lead is passionate about bringing Nike’s Future of Youth Sport strategy to life in Mexico City. They are an organized project manager and team player with proven follow through, have program management experience from concept to execution, and is a strong relationship manager and communicator. They are a quick and eager learner, with an inclusive mindset. They lead with authenticity, courage and are inspired by the possibilities of the unknown. You will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of relevant, professional experience, education and training.
A minimum of 4 years of professional, relevant experience in corporate social responsibility and/or community development and/or purpose brand integration and strategic alignment within the corporate environment.
High level partner and/or portfolio management experience across any of following sectors: NGO, government, education, sport/physical activity, and youth development.
Experience participating in and/or leading collective action and/or systems change work.
Experience in project management, managing work plans and delivering results in a cross-functional environment.
Work with leadership and team leads to help ensure strategy execution and alignment and drive local decision making.
Excellent communication, analytical, written and presentation skills.
Fluency in English – spoken and written
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
Proactive approach with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate complex internal and external organizations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn new platforms
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a large, matrixed organization.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10%).
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be working with the Americas Social & Community Impact team based in Mexico City.
Primarily, this role will lead on driving the Future of Youth Sport strategy across Mexico City, through community investments and coach training initiatives and in direct communication with stakeholders from across the sector, budget management, event support and working with external community partners.
Coordination with grantees from SCI led portfolios focused on getting kids active, coach training and employee engagement;
Leading collaboration with the Youth Sport Research and Innovation team to measure the impact of NIKE Inc.’s commitment to powering the Future of Youth Sport in Mexico City;
Implement and manage an integrated approach to community development that connects back through a corporate responsibility lens, including investment and ongoing partner strategies that focuses on highest impact efforts while effectively responding to the immediate needs of partners internally and externally;
Manage day to day relationships to foster Future of Youth Sport collaboration and integration opportunities with a cross-functional team in the LATAM office including but not limited to Brand marketing, Sports Marketing, CaSA Distributors, city-based employee networks, and employee engagement moments.
Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals at the global, geography and city levels.
A typical day/week will include performing work in support of a portfolio of community investments, including the following activities.
Partner closely with the Social & Community Impact team and cross-functional teams on community-based initiatives that develop and support efforts focused on communities and populations in Mexico City focused on driving the Future of Youth Sport, leading with girls.
Manage internal and external partners to support additional key initiatives in the city that deepen relationships and impact within the community, either with Nike nonprofit grantees, institutional partners in the city, or internal partner departments.
Additional work will focus on the management of a high-quality grant making process, coordination of the measurement and evaluation of the community investment portfolio, identification of employee engagement opportunities and execution of an integrated communication and brand plan to support and amplify community initiatives all of this with a foundational focus on operational compliance and excellence.
