The Senior Engineering Manager leads teams of Product Development, NPI, and Process Engineering engineers responsible for production line transfers, design-for-manufacturability execution, tooling readiness, and sustaining engineering activities for power connectors and cable assemblies within a high-volume production environment.
Lead engineering teams focused on product development, NPI, process engineering, and manufacturing support.
Manage new product introductions, production transfers, and dual-sourcing programs.
Oversee engineering changes and releases, ensuring controlled implementation into production.
Define and optimize manufacturing processes, line balancing, cycle times, and process capability.
Coordinate tooling and fixture reviews to ensure quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Drive design improvements to enhance manufacturability, cost reduction, and product reliability.
Serve as the primary technical liaison between Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for product, process, and launch-related issues.
Ensure successful validation activities, pilot builds, testing, and product launch readiness.
Develop team capabilities in manufacturing processes, industrialization, and problem-solving methodologies.
Manage resources, priorities, and technical risks across multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in product development, NPI, and process engineering, preferably for power connectors, cable assemblies, or power interconnects.
Proven experience leading engineering teams supporting new product launches in high-volume production environments.
Strong technical background in CAD-based design, engineering analysis, tooling, crimping systems, and cable assemblies.
Strong DFM/DFA and process engineering mindset applied early in product development.
Demonstrated success with engineering change management, industrialization, and production transfers.
