Description
The position is responsible for managing the offering, coordination, and follow-up of the train interchange process with the corresponding customs authorities, ensuring compliance with customs procedures in Mexico, the United States, or Canada within the established timeframes and in accordance with the applicable documentation requirements. Its main responsibilities include validating operational information in official systems, maintaining logs, reporting incidents, and escalating issues that may affect operational continuity and the proper management of train interchange.
Accountabilities
- Coordinates and facilitates the border crossing and interchange of trains with customs authorities, in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Reviews and validates operational and documentary information in customs systems, in accordance with established processes in Mexico, the United States, or Canada.
- Monitors train progress, identifying deviations and managing operational incidents, ensuring effective and timely escalation in line with established procedures.
- Maintains communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational continuity.
- Contributes to the achievement of operational and regulatory KPIs by ensuring process quality, timeliness, and compliance, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or higher education institution preferred
- 3 to 4 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or equivalent applications.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to information accuracy in a dynamic operational environment.
- English proficiency.
Preferred
- Experience using operating systems, transportation/logistics platforms, or equivalent systems (e.g., MCS or similar tools).
- Ability to learn, adapt to, and effectively use new systems, tools, and technologies according to business needs in Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
Working Conditions
- The position operates within a 24/7 environment and may require working rotating shifts, including day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific schedules, including start and end times, will be assigned based on operational requirements and business needs.
