We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator based in our Tijuana office to manage and support network infrastructure across remote customer sites and data centers.
This role focuses primarily on Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching, Cisco ASA/Firepower firewalls, and virtualized environments running VMware.
The ideal candidate will also have strong experience with monitoring platforms like Zabbix or PRTG. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the availability, security, and performance of distributed LAN/WAN environments through proactive administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and optimize Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, Cisco ASA/Firepower firewalls, and Ubiquiti UniFi switches, gateways, and wireless access points.
- Design and support network services including VLANs, routing, network segmentation, and WAN connectivity.
- Administer and optimize VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including virtual networking and integration with physical infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using Zabbix and PRTG, including dashboards, reporting, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
- Configure and manage firewall policies, VPNs, IPSec tunnels, and security controls to protect customer and corporate environments.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patch management, backups, disaster recovery preparation, and infrastructure documentation.
- Lead network migrations, upgrades, and optimization projects for customer sites and data centers.
- Provide Tier 2 support for network, wireless, VoIP, and connectivity issues across multiple remote locations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on hybrid cloud and infrastructure initiatives.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical global operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration or network engineering. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls.
- Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi networking solutions.
- Experience with Zabbix and PRTG monitoring platforms.
- Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, switching technologies, VPNs, and network security principles.
- Experience with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or similar tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in remote and distributed environments.
