Tax & Financial Compliance Analyst (R&D Tax Credits)

About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-driven and analytical Tax & Financial Compliance Analyst with hands-on experience in U.S. R&D Tax Credits or similar tax incentive programs.
This is a key role within a high-performance, client-facing team, where you’ll work directly on U.S.-based tax credit projects, supporting companies in maximizing their incentives while ensuring full compliance.
This is not an entry-level role. We are specifically looking for candidates with real, hands-on experience in U.S. tax credits, ideally from accounting firms, tax advisory firms, or consulting environments.
What You’ll Do

Prepare and support U.S. tax credits and incentives projects, with strong focus on R&D Tax Credits

Analyze client financials and operations to identify qualifying activities and expenses

Perform technical tax research (federal & state incentives)

Build and review calculations, workpapers, and supporting documentation

Validate and organize client-provided financial and operational data
-
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and deadlines compliance

Collaborate with clients and internal teams in a professional, consultative manner

Follow and improve SOPs and internal processes
Must-Have Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

Proven experience working with Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credits OR similar U.S. tax incentive programs

Background in a U.S.-focused accounting firm, tax advisory firm, or consulting firm

Solid understanding of:

U.S. tax framework

Financial reporting

Tax credits & compliance processes in the U.S.

At least 1–2 years of experience in tax, public accounting, or tax consulting

Experience preparing or supporting tax returns, credits, or financial analyses

Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements

Strong Excel skills (data handling, calculations, analysis)
Nice to Have

Experience with tools like CCH, BNA, Checkpoint, or similar

Exposure to multi-state tax credits or incentives

Experience working with U.S.-based clients

Requirements:

Proven experience in U.S. R&D Tax Credits Hands-on experience identifying, calculating, and documenting R&D tax credits or similar incentives.

Background in U.S.-focused accounting or consulting firms (Big4, mid-tier, or tax advisory firms working with U.S. clients).

Strong knowledge of the U.S. tax system Especially in tax compliance, credits, and incentive programs.

Experience with tax preparation or support in tax filings Including financial analysis and tax-related documentation.

Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements Connecting accounting data with tax credit opportunities.

1–2+ years of experience in tax, public accounting, or tax consulting

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (data analysis, calculations, and data organization).

Experience with tax research tools (CCH, BNA, Checkpoint, or similar platforms).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy Critical for compliance and calculation integrity.
