The Industrial Air Filtration division is seeking a detail-oriented Design Engineer to support product development and enhancement projects. This role involves analyzing technical information, developing innovative dust collection system designs, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure solutions meet market needs and IAF standards.
Responsibilities:
Support development and testing of Industrial Air Filtration products and enhancements, supporting IAF New Product Development and IAF Current Product Engineering.
Generate detailed 3D CAD assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings for standardized dust collection equipment components, utilizing SolidWorks.
Leverage internal and external expertise and technologies to support development and testing needs.
Manage the scope of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to improve product quality and implement design modifications.
Develop innovative design ideas through conceptualization and prototyping and conduct thorough design reviews to ensure compliance with IAF standards and project requirements.
Utilize feedback to drive enhancements on existing and future IAF designs for quality and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the manufacturing plants, engineering, corporate technology, and product management, to understand market and application needs.
Create presentations and/or technical reports to convey project status, test results, findings, and recommendations to various audiences.
Create clear and concise technical drawings for efficient manufacturing across multiple facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or Associate degree in Mechanical Design or related field with equivalent experience.
3+ years of engineering or related experience with general knowledge of filtration principles and/or local exhaust ventilation systems and 3+ years of CAD design experience.
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including sheet metal expertise.
Strong PDM software competency (Teamcenter preferred).
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Advanced Level of english
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical certificate (CSWE/CSWP) preferred.
Experience with SolidWorks, NX, DriveWorks, and Solid Edge.
Demonstrated experience in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Basic understanding of electrical fundamentals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven problem-solving and project management abilities
Ability to maneuver through and manage multiple projects ranging in size/scope
