Working at Citi is far more than just a job. A career with us means joining a team of approximately 219,000 dedicated people from around the globe. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.
Citi is looking for an experienced Operations Support Manager to lead and coordinate a team of 8 operations professionals, ensuring the seamless end-to-end delivery of daily banking operations — including cheque processing, clearing house flows, and accounting close — within a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. This role sits within Citi's core operations function and plays a critical part in maintaining operational accuracy, managing external vendor relationships, and safeguarding information security standards. If you thrive on accountability, cross-functional coordination, and delivering results across multiple daily cutoffs, this is an opportunity to make a direct and measurable impact.
- Coordinate and oversee the daily operations cycle across multiple closing schedules, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and on time — including early-morning openings and late-evening accounting close activities.
- Validate that all operational workflows are functioning correctly at each stage of the process, identifying and resolving contingencies quickly to minimize service disruption.
- Lead the daily coordination of an 8-person operations team, assigning tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring consistent delivery across all shifts and cutoff windows.
- Monitor team performance and quality of output, providing ongoing feedback and making recommendations on development, performance, and staffing needs.
- Oversee the accounting close process, performing account reconciliations and confirming that all financial entries are validated and complete before each cutoff.
- Manage the relationship with an external vendor partner, ensuring information security protocols are upheld and that all data-handling standards are met.
- Act as the subject matter expert for senior stakeholders on operational processes, escalating control issues transparently and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Step in for the operations manager when required, maintaining continuity and full operational accountability in their absence.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in banking or financial operations, including at least one year in a supervisory or team coordination role.
- Knowledge of physical cheque validation rules and clearing house compensation flows.
- Accounting knowledge with hands-on experience in account reconciliation and financial close processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, applied to data validation, operational reporting, and process tracking.
- Ability to manage flexible working hours across multiple daily cutoffs, with availability for early-morning starts from 6:00 AM and late-evening close activities beyond 10:00 PM when required.
- Intermediate English proficiency, with the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with both internal teams and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently, resolve operational issues under time pressure, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout.
- Experience working with or managing external vendor relationships within a regulated financial services environment.
- Familiarity with information security practices applied to data-sharing processes involving third-party partners.
- Bachelor's degree or university qualification in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
At Citi, you will take on real ownership of a critical operations function, working within a collaborative team environment where performance and delivery are recognized. This is a role with tangible impact — coordinating complex daily processes, developing your leadership capability, and growing your expertise across banking operations, accounting, and vendor management at a global financial institution.
- Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, providing flexibility to balance professional and personal commitments.
- Scheduling flexibility that reflects the operational reality of the role, with structured shift patterns covering early, standard, and late-closing windows.
- Direct ownership of a critical operational area, with the autonomy to coordinate a team and make decisions that keep the business running.
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration, working alongside internal teams and external partners within a regulated, high-accountability environment.
- Access to learning and professional development opportunities within one of the world's leading financial institutions.
- Wellbeing and financial benefits aligned to Citi's global employee programmed, tailored to your local market.
Apply today and take ownership of a key operations role at Citi, where your coordination skills, financial knowledge, and leadership will directly shape the quality and reliability of daily banking operations.
