Job title: Industrial Engineering Manager — Final Assembly (NPI, Process & Quality)
Summary:
Lead industrial engineering for final assembly of server products, ensuring smooth NPI transfers, stable mass production, and continuous improvements in quality, efficiency and cost through process engineering, line balancing, automation and factory digitalization.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead NPI-to-mass-production transfers for final assembly: define manufacturing readiness, pilot runs, and ramp plans to achieve target volume and reliability.
- Establish and standardize final-assembly processes, work instructions and process controls to create repeatable, scalable workflows.
- Manage SMT and L10 assembly process technology for handoff and integration with final assembly: develop, qualify and sustain core capabilities.
- Build and maintain a server product quality management system for final assembly: governance, KPIs, change-control and escalation paths.
- Translate customer quality requirements into production controls, acceptance criteria and test plans at final assembly.
- Reduce defects and rework through RCA, corrective/preventive actions, DFMEA and yield-improvement initiatives.
- Drive continuous-improvement and cost-reduction projects (Lean/Six Sigma), including automation and smart-manufacturing deployments to raise throughput and lower unit cost.
- Strengthen supplier quality and incoming inspection strategies to reduce upstream failures affecting final assembly.
- Lead capacity planning, line balancing and takt optimization to align resources with demand and minimize bottlenecks.
- Plan and advance factory digitalization and AI/data-analytics applications to enable predictive control and long-term process optimization.
Focus areas:
- Process engineering & new-product introduction
- Quality management & stable mass production
- Continuous improvement & cost competitiveness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years as Manager in manufacturing/process engineering experience with proven final-assembly and NPI transfer experience; 3+ years in a lead role.
- Hands-on knowledge of SMT/L10 processes, assembly test, yield improvement, supplier quality and automation.
- Familiarity with quality/performance metrics (PPM/DPM, RTY, OEE), RCA, DFMEA, Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Strong project management, cross-functional collaboration and people-leadership skills.
Success metrics (examples): NPI time-to-volume, first-pass yield, defect/rework rate, DPM/PPM, OEE, throughput, supplier PPM and cost-per-unit.
Reports to: Director/VP of Manufacturing, Operations, or Head of Industrial Engineering.
Sueldo: $1.00 - $2.00 al mes
