The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving manufacturing control systems and automation processes.
The Controls Engineer will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes, support capital projects, and drive operational excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems.
- Support manufacturing operations by identifying and resolving equipment, automation, and process control issues.
- Lead and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity, quality, safety, and equipment uptime.
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, control system documentation, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze production and equipment performance data to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production personnel as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Engineering, Automation or related positions within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.
