General Description:
The General Manager is the senior executive responsible for the overall leadership of the company in Mexico, ensuring financial profitability, accounting compliance, and operational efficiency across the supply chain. This role integrates finance, accounting, and logistics under a single leadership position, ensuring that all functions are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial and accounting management: Oversee the company’s financial health, including annual budgeting, cash flow management, and revenue/expense forecasting; monitor key P&L indicators to ensure profitability. Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting and tax regulations through oversight of general accounting, financial statements, tax filings, and internal/external audits.
- Supply Chain and Operations: Manage end to end supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution in alignment with the corporate global supply chain support, to ensure timely availability and efficient delivery of products. Optimize logistics processes, reduce operating costs, improve delivery times, maintain optimal inventory levels, and minimize waste or shrinkage.
- Performance management and continuous improvement: Track performance through financial and operational KPIs (e.g., operating margin, inventory turnover, logistics costs) to support data driven decision making and continuous improvement initiatives. Support efficiency projects (technology, automation, digitalization) to enhance productivity in both finance and operations.
- Team leadership and culture: Lead and develop the management teams for Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain, fostering cross functional collaboration. Promote a culture of compliance, efficiency, and results orientation, ensuring shared objectives across financial and operational teams. Maintain effective communication with other functions (e.g., Sales/Commercial, HR) for an integrated business view.
- Stakeholder management: Represent the company with shareholders, financial institutions, key suppliers, and strategic customers. Negotiate with suppliers and logistics partners to secure favorable terms that improve profitability and supply chain efficiency following company’s global supply chain policies and guidelines. Provide transparent reporting on financial and operational results, building stakeholder confidence in management.
- Strategic leadership and organizational alignment in Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain with corporate goals, ensuring strong coordination across functions and a holistic business approach.
Typical Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; postgraduate degree (MBA) preferred.
- Minimum ~15+ years of experience in senior financial or operational leadership roles within distribution or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of strategic financial management, Mexican tax and accounting regulations, supply chain planning, and performance metrics.
- Proven skills in team leadership, negotiation, and high impact decision making under pressure. Spanish required; English required
