The Security Lead Mexico is responsible for protecting Bayer’s people, operations, assets, and reputation within Mexico. This role ensures the effective implementation of corporate security standards, leads risk mitigation strategies, manages incidents and investigations, and maintains strong coordination with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
The Security Lead Mexico leads and is fully accountable for the country’s security agenda, ensuring the protection of Bayer’s workforce, business operations, facilities, assets, and intellectual property.
This role acts as the country focal point for security governance, risk management, crisis response, and investigations, while ensuring alignment with NORLA and Global Corporate Security strategies.
The position combines strategic oversight with operational execution and requires strong external engagement due to the complexity of the risk landscape in Mexico, including crime, supply chain exposure, and regulatory challenges.
- Develop and execute the security strategy for Mexico in alignment with NORLA and global frameworks.
- Conduct and maintain regular country risk assessments to proactively mitigate evolving threats.
- Translate global security policies into local procedures and fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Ensure implementation of high-impact security measures across:
- Employee safety and workplace security
- Transportation and travel security
- Supply chain and product protection
- Physical site and asset security
- Safeguard business continuity by protecting critical operations and key locations.
- Oversee and manage security services and vendors, including guarding, monitoring, and transport security.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security standards, SOPs, and local regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in security processes, tools, and technologies.
- Act as the country lead for crisis preparedness and response.
- Coordinate and manage crisis situations, ensuring rapid response and effective communication.
- Support business leaders in decision-making during high-risk events.
- Collect and analyze security intelligence related to criminal, activist, and geopolitical risks.
- Provide actionable insights to anticipate and mitigate threats.
- Serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement, authorities, and security networks in Mexico.
- Represent Bayer in industry forums and public-private security collaborations.
- Partner closely with:
- Regional leadership (CFO, Managing Director, Site Leads)

- Functions such as HR, Legal, Compliance, and Communications
- Ensure integrated decision-making and alignment on security priorities.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Postgraduate studies preferred.
- Solid experience in corporate security, risk management, crisis response, and investigations.
- Strong knowledge of the security landscape in Mexico, including criminal threats, supply chain risks, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to engage with senior internal stakeholders and external authorities.
- Experience managing third-party security providers and cross-functional security programs.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on operational execution.
