Key responsibilities
- Supervise and lead IE plans; manage execution of continuous improvement and capital projects.
- Develop NPI strategies: perform feasibility evaluations, cost analysis, and production cycle-time estimates.
- Implement engineering changes and coordinate their integration across production lines.
- Establish and monitor goals and KPIs for line balance, UPH (units per hour), UPPH (units per person-hour), headcount (HC), quality, efficiency, and overall productivity.
- Facilitate, assign and track Kaizen projects to eliminate waste and improve processes; define offline HC requirements for staging/offline operations.
- Produce and coordinate capacity reports; lead weekly capacity-review meetings and perform capacity analysis.
- Host weekly performance-dialogue meetings; lead and attend management and assigned cross-functional meetings to report progress and escalate issues.
Key performance indicators (examples)
- Line balance variance, UPH/UPPH vs. target, HC utilization, first-pass yield, OEE/efficiency, cycle-time reduction, number of closed Kaizen actions, NPI ramp-to-rate timelines.
Required qualifications & experience (brief)
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years in electronics/PCBA manufacturing preferred, with hands-on experience in NPI, line integration, and capacity planning.
- Experience leading improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
Skills & tools
- Strong analytical and project-management skills; time-and-motion studies and line balancing.
- Proficient with capacity planning tools, Excel (advanced), ERP/MRP systems, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with SMT/assembly processes, PCB handling, quality systems, and change-control procedures.
- Effective communicator and facilitator; able to lead cross-functional teams and present to management.
