VALEO NORTH AMERICA is seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Trainee to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement within a global automotive supplier environment.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Support the purchasing team in day-to-day operational tasks, including data entry, order placement, and document management.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and RFPs (Requests for Proposal).
- Learn and apply purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services.
- Participate in supplier evaluations and performance monitoring.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and negotiation processes.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and databases.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and industry trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, quality, and engineering.
- Prepare reports and presentations on purchasing activities as required.
Job Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Basic understanding of purchasing principles is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a bonus.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
