- Core role: Ensures product and process quality by managing laboratory testing, on-site evaluations, and raw material and finished product verification; supports R&D by coordinating and executing activities for new product development, formulation improvements, and process optimization; works cross-functionally with quality, logistics, sales, operations, and R&D teams to drive product excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Job ResponsibilitiesQuality Control (QC)
- Perform routine and specialized tests on raw materials and finished products including PCEs (polycarboxylate ethers) and cement / concrete admixtures, assessing physico chemical characteristics like solids content, pH, density, viscosity, workability (slump), and chemical composition.
- Conduct chemical, physical, and rheological tests, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards (ASTM, ISO, ACI, GB/T etc.).
- Utilize laboratory equipment such as densimeter, potentiometer, thermobalance, rheometer, UV-VIS, FT-IR, slump cones, and other analytical tools.
Quality Monitoring
- Follow, develop and propose updates for standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing and production processes.
- Maintain detailed records of test results, analyze trends, calculate CPK, report any anomalies or product deviations and propose potential solutions or optimizations.
- Collaborate with operations team to keep monitoring of the process, troubleshoot, follow up of the optimization improvement plans and resolve quality issues or non-conformances.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive lab reports and databases, daily logs, and data analysis from raw materials and finished products to maintain traceability, ensuring stability in the process and assist management in decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, fostering traceability and maintain proper documentation for audits and certifications.
R&D Synthesis and Formulation
- Assist the R&D department in the synthesis of new products and admixtures formulations by evaluating raw materials, reaction conditions, and performance characteristics.
- Support the design, formulation, and optimization of admixtures to enhance product properties such as flowability, strength, and setting time.
- Perform lab-scale experiments to identify optimal reaction conditions (temperature, pH, concentration, etc.) for optimizing production conditions and ensuring reaction stability.
Process Optimization
- Analyze and refine production processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of finished products for PCEs and admixtures.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure that optimized formulations and processes are effectively scaled up to full production levels.
- Provide technical support in troubleshooting and refining production processes to meet quality targets.
- Assist to the management in root cause analysis of production failures, customer complaints, and deviations and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related fields is preferred.
- Experience in quality control, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9000/14000/45000, preferably in chemical production.
- Familiarity with quality documentation, reports and COAs.
- Proficient in computer software for data entry and reporting.
- Experience as quality leader or R&D lab leader.

Physical requirements
- Standing for extended periods during lab testing and R&D experiments.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.

Location Requirement
- Candidates must live within 35 kilometers of our Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico plant at 360 Industrial Park.
