Job summary
The Product Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of automotive products and components. This role ensures that products meet customer specifications, quality standards, cost targets, and manufacturing requirements while supporting product launches and engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and validation of automotive products and components.
- Review customer specifications, technical requirements, and engineering standards.
- Coordinate product launches and engineering change implementation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including drawings, specifications, BOMs, and engineering records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Program Management.
- Support prototype builds, testing activities, and product validation processes.
- Analyze product performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to product or customer issues.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, automotive standards, and internal procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding technical requirements and product changes.
- Support APQP activities and product development milestones.
- Participate in DFMEA, design reviews, and risk assessments.
- Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and engineering activities to ensure successful product launches.
- Support cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in automotive product engineering or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with product development processes and engineering change management.
- Experience in Tier 1 automotive industry preferred.
