A private bilingual school in Zapopan is seeking an English Teacher for Lower Primary (1st and 2nd grade). We are looking for an educator with a genuine passion for teaching, strong English proficiency, and proven experience working with young learners.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing English-based instruction for children primarily between 6 and 9 years of age, while contributing to a positive, structured, and student-centered learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English and English-based subjects to 1st and 2nd grade students.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning sequences, classroom activities, projects, quizzes, study guides, and assessments.
- Use active-learning strategies, project-based learning, and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Create and use visual, digital, and hands-on teaching resources.
- Monitor individual and group academic progress.
- Review assignments, notebooks, projects, and other evidence of learning.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and prepare academic progress reports in English.
- Apply positive classroom-management practices and reflective discipline.
- Document and follow up on classroom or behavioral incidents in accordance with school policies.
- Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with parents and guardians.
- Participate in parent meetings, academic activities, school events, and institutional projects.
- Use Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and other educational platforms for instruction, assignments, communication, and follow-up.
Candidate Profile
- Completed bachelor's degree in Education, Pedagogy, English Language Teaching, Educational Sciences, or a related field.
- Candidates with a different degree may be considered when they can demonstrate relevant teacher training and solid classroom experience.
- Minimum English level: B2. B2+ or C1 is preferred.
- Current certification in English proficiency or teaching methodology, such as Cambridge, TKT, TOEFL, IELTS, Teachers Course, or an equivalent credential.
- At least two years of teaching experience at elementary-school level.
- Experience working with children between 6 and 9 years of age is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, and digital learning platforms.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, assessment, project-based learning, positive classroom management, and communication with families.
- Availability to work full-time, on-site.
