GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Responsible for executing, validating, and monitoring the payroll operational process, ensuring the correct capture, review, and application of incidents, transactions, and payments in accordance with internal policies, established schedules, and departmental guidelines. This position contributes to the accuracy, control, and efficiency of the process through data analysis, variance tracking, employee support, and continuous improvement proposals.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- 3 years of experience in payroll operational processes, incident management, payment validation, or related positions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- English proficiency (60%)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS
- End-to-end payroll operational process.
- Incident management: absences, tardiness, disability, leave, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive adjustments.
- Validation of earnings and deductions according to internal policies.
- Calculation of severance pay and basic benefits.
- Control and review of personnel changes impacting payroll.
- Reconciliation and validation of information before and after payroll processing.
- Database management, report generation, and data matching.
- Intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP or payroll systems is desirable.
Knowledge of key performance indicators, operational controls, and continuous improvement is desirable. Labor and tax legislation (Federal Labor Law, Taxes, Social Security, and Accounting)
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute and monitor the payroll operational process according to the schedule.
- Receive, review, validate, and upload payroll incidents.
- Ensure the correct application of personnel changes that impact payroll.
- Validate earnings, deductions, and variations before payroll closing.
- Review differences, deviations, or inconsistencies in payroll reports and follow up on their correction.
- Calculate and validate items such as vacation pay, vacation bonus, Christmas bonus, profit sharing, bonuses, commissions, overtime, retroactive payments, and severance pay, according to internal guidelines.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll information for its correct processing.
- Prepare operational reports, control databases, and process variance analyses.
- Address employee inquiries and questions related to payroll payments.
- Maintain up-to-date process controls and documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement, simplification, standardization, and automation initiatives for the process.
- Identify operational risks, recurring errors, and opportunities for improvement to reduce rework and strengthen controls.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, and other departments to ensure the correct execution of the process.
- Prepare information for internal and external audits.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile payroll information for accurate processing.
- Prepare operational reports, control databases, and process variance analyses.
- Address employee inquiries and questions related to payroll payments.
- Maintain up-to-date process controls and documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement, simplification, standardization, and automation initiatives for the process.
