Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Shopify Developer to design, develop, and optimize high-performing eCommerce solutions on our Shopify platform. This role requires strong technical expertise in Shopify (Liquid, APIs, and app integrations), a deep understanding of eCommerce best practices, and the ability to lead development initiatives from concept through deployment.You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and marketing teams to build scalable, user-friendly, and conversion-optimized online stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and customization of Shopify and Shopify Plus stores.
- Build and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develop custom apps and integrations using Shopify APIs (REST and GraphQL).
- Optimize website performance, speed, and responsiveness across multiple devices.
- Implement third-party tools (payments, shipping, CRM, analytics, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical issues.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate high-fidelity designs into functional experiences.
- Ensure SEO best practices and accessibility standards are fully implemented.
- Manage deployments, version control, and development workflows.
- Mentor junior developers and provide comprehensive technical guidance.
- Stay up-to-date with Shopify platform updates, tools, and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree completed (professional degree required).
- Languages: Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written; fully fluent for technical meetings and day-to-day communication).
- Travel Requirement: None.
- Overall Experience: 5+ years of professional web development experience.
- Shopify Experience: 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Shopify Liquid templating language.
- JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with Shopify APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
- Expertise in theme development, app customization, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with performance optimization and debugging tools.
- Experience with Shopify Plus architectures.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar).
- Experience building custom Shopify apps (Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or similar).
- Knowledge of headless commerce architectures.
- Understanding of eCommerce analytics, CRO, and A/B testing.
- Experience integrating ERP, CRM, or marketing automation platforms.
