About the role
The Sr. Project Specialist within The Learning Center (TLC) is a critical role responsible for leading the full project management lifecycle of complex, cross-functional initiatives that support GM Financial International Operations (GMF IO) strategic priorities. This role primarily focuses on end-to-end project management execution, while also supporting Customer Experience IO (CX IO) initiatives and contributing to program management, governance, and operational routines within TLC.
This position plays a pivotal role in standardizing and aligning learning, operational, and CX IO initiatives to drive measurable business outcomes. The individual will partner across TLC, CX IO, and enterprise functions to ensure consistent execution of project management methodologies, including adherence to Global Project Portfolio Management (GPPM) standards, while enabling effective program coordination and operational excellence.
In this role you will:
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure) for priority TLC and CX IO initiatives ensuring alignment with CX IO strategy and operational goals.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting defined business outcomes and strategic priorities.
- Apply and drive consistent use of GPPM processes, standards, and governance across all assigned projects
- Identify risks, dependencies, and resource constraints; proactively develop mitigation strategies.
- Partner with enterprise stakeholders to ensure high levels of integration across functions.
- Support program management routines, including planning cycles, governance forums, and reporting cadences across TLC.
- Drive coordination of integrated learning programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational training strategies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of standards, frameworks, templates, and best practices for program and project execution.
- Partner with Global PMO/EPMO to ensure alignment of TLC initiatives with enterprise portfolio priorities.
- Develop and deliver project and program reporting, dashboards, and business presentations for stakeholders.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations that improve learning and CX IO outcomes.
- Ensure consistency in business review materials and executive-level reporting.
- Influence and collaborate with cross-functional and multicultural teams across IO to drive alignment and results.
- Lead stakeholder communications, governance routines, and decision-making forums.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment throughout project delivery.
- Support TLC and CX IO operational needs, including:
- Maintaining TLC documentation, repositories, and team sites
- Assist in CX IO administration as needed, capturing and distributing meeting minutes and key documentation.
- Ensure consistent adherence to corporate standards, branding, and documentation practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and program effectiveness.
Role Scope: International Operations (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico & Peru)
What makes You an ideal candidate?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Project Management, Finance or Accounting
- 4+ years of experience in project and/or program management, preferably within enterprise or cross-functional environments
- Proven experience managing complex, large-scale initiatives with multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity with enterprise training performance measurements and standards preferred
- Familiarity with GPPM (Global Project Portfolio Management) or enterprise PMO frameworks
- Experience in financial services and/or operational environments is a plus
- English required/ Spanish or Portuguese preferred
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, resources, and timelines simultaneously
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent presentation and executive communication skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear business insights
