About the Role
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing and growing business throughout Northern Mexico by promoting FlexLink's automation, material handling, and engineered solutions portfolio. This role focuses on protecting and expanding existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities across key industries.
As a consultative sales professional, you will work closely with customers, integrators, distributors, application engineers, and global product teams to develop customized automation solutions that address unique operational challenges. Success in this role requires strong business development skills, the ability to manage long sales cycles, and a customer-focused approach to delivering value through tailored solutions.
This position is ideally based in Monterrey and reports directly to the Sales Manager.
In this role you are responsible for:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
- Manage a sales territory throughout Northern Mexico, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities.
- Generate new accounts and expand business within existing accounts.
- Conduct customer visits to understand operational needs and identify opportunities for automation and material handling solutions.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, proposal development, quotation presentation, negotiation, and project closure.
- Collaborate with Application Engineers, Project Teams, Service Teams, and Global Product Specialists to develop customized customer solutions.
- Work effectively with both end users and system integrators, adapting sales strategies to each customer type and business model.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, opportunity tracking, sales forecasts, and pipeline reporting.
- Complete RFQs, prepare commercial proposals, and define pricing and commercial conditions aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor and follow up on active projects and customer opportunities to ensure timely progression through the sales funnel.
- Support collection activities and collaborate with Finance as needed on assigned accounts.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and expand FlexLink's presence within key industries.
- Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, industry developments, and competitive activity.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and long-term relationship development.
- Travel frequently throughout Mexico and occasionally internationally to support customers, projects, and business development activities.
- Follow company policies, quality procedures, and business processes in all activities.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, industrial automation, material handling, systems integration, or engineered solutions.
- Proven experience managing complex sales cycles and developing long-term customer relationships.
- Experience selling customized or tailor-made industrial solutions is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with manufacturers, distributors, and system integrators is highly desirable.
- Experience managing revenue targets and sales pipelines within industrial markets.
