Bookkeeper – Property Management (Remote)

Responsibilities
Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping for multiple residential and commercial properties, including:
- Accounts Receivable: posting rent payments, reconciling tenant ledgers, preparing tenant statements, and monitoring outstanding balances.
- Accounts Payable: processing invoices, vendor payments, utility bills, and expense allocations.
- Perform bank account and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Reconcile security deposits and trust accounts in compliance with Property Management regulations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Analyze financial variances and report findings to management.
- Collaborate with Property Managers to resolve tenant and owner accounting issues.
- Utilize AppFolio Property Manager software for daily accounting operations, reporting, reconciliations, and property financial management.
- Ensure financial records comply with Property Management accounting best practices and company procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Bookkeeping experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience using AppFolio Property Manager.
- Previous experience working for a Property Management Company is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Property Management accounting workflows, including tenant ledgers, owner statements, trust accounts, rent collections, and security deposit reconciliations.
- Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Advanced conversational English with little to no accent.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
