Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced California-licensed Business Litigation Attorney to serve as a key legal advisor for our organization. Working remotely from Mexico, you will handle commercial disputes, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance matters, and employment-related legal issues. You will play a critical role in protecting our company’s interests while ensuring we remain fully compliant with all applicable healthcare laws.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of business litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft and argue pleadings, motions (including dispositive motions), discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct complex legal research and analysis on California commercial codes and case law.
- Assist in taking and defending depositions (remote or in-person, as needed).
- Communicate effectively with US-based clients, opposing counsel, and courts (via Zoom/Teams).
- Collaborate with the litigation team to develop creative case strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Active membership in the California State Bar (in good standing).
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of substantive experience in business/commercial litigation (experience with breach of contract, fraud, unfair competition, or employment disputes is a plus).
- Must be a current resident of Mexico and authorized to work as a contractor/employee from Mexico.
- Fluency in English (written and oral) at a native/business professional level. Advanced Spanish is strongly preferred for seamless integration with local administrative needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with e-discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw).
- Familiarity with federal and California state court procedures.
- Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fully remote environment.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home office.
