The Global Mobility Manager will serve as subject matter expert supporting PBPs, leadership, and other internal stakeholders in all activities involved in the cross-border movement of employees and their families. The role will report to the Director, Global Mobility & Immigration and play an important role in continuing to grow the function, educating the business on risk mitigation and compliance, and providing subject matter expertise in the areas of global immigration, tax/wage reporting, and relocation. The Global Mobility Manager will be an Americas regional specialist but work as part of a global team to provide support across all regions and countries where we conduct business.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Serve as the Americas regional specialist for all matters related to global mobility and immigration;
Manage our immigration program, including coordination of work authorization and visas, expiration tracking and renewal management, oversight of the permanent residence sponsorship program, and strategic long-term immigration planning. Serve as ‘key contact’ and ensure overall compliance and efficiency;
Manage cross-border movement of employees including permanent and fixed-term transfers, secondments, and extended business travel;
Consult with and provide advice to the business on complex cross-border business needs including mobility best practices and internal policy compliance;
Advise and ensure proper administration of expatriate payroll, compensation, and benefits including shadow payroll;
Oversee compliance reviews that identify areas of risk exposure or non-compliance related to tax, wage reporting and immigration;
Manage relationship with service providers for immigration, relocation, and tax, to ensure outstanding customer service, policy compliance, and data integrity;
Conduct pre-departure briefing with employees to ensure full understanding of terms of relocation;
Stay up-to-date on changing regulations, trends and industry practices, consulting with internal stakeholders and external vendors as needed;
Work closely with other members of the Global Mobility team to report and analyze mobility data to better identify global mobility trends, employee engagement issues, and other opportunities to improve program management.
Essential Traits:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, or related field;
Minimum 5-6 years of in-house Global Mobility experience or in a related role within a Professional Services Firm;
Demonstrated knowledge of global mobility services, best practices, and compliance including but not limited to immigration and relocation for the Americas;
Strong expertise in US immigration, including employment visas and permanent residence;
Demonstrated experience managing a team of professionals in a matrixed environment;
Demonstrated understanding of expatriate tax concepts including tax equalization, permanent establishment, and shadow payrolls;
Strong customer service and cultural adaptability;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the business and explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner;
Advanced knowledge of Excel and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Proactive planning, execution, and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
Understanding of global mobility management in other regions including APAC and EMEA desirable;
Working knowledge of HRIS systems, experience with Oracle a plus.
