Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic financial direction, operational excellence, and financial integrity of the organization. The CFO will lead the finance function, ensuring robust financial planning, compliance, and performance management, while also playing a pivotal role in business transformation, governance, and stakeholder engagement.
The CFO is expected to improve the transparency for country businesses, ie marine, terminal and landside activities, enabling them to steer growth and profitability through a number driven and fact-based approach. The CFO must in this regard act as a true business partner, by being proactive, identifying opportunities and highlighting challenges in the business in order to propose the necessary steps to correct them.
THE ROLE
This role is an expatriate assignment.
The CFO is required to rotate to other roles, countries, or assignments within the Group at the end of the assignment period, or earlier if business needs require.
Assignment duration, renewal, and subsequent rotations are governed by Group mobility and succession‑planning policies.
Flexibility and willingness to relocate internationally are essential requirements of the role.

Operational Excellence & Cost Control

Drive cost-saving initiatives and margin improvement strategies.

Oversee order, invoicing, and supplier payment processes.

Implement automation and process optimization across finance operations.

Monitor and analyze key financial and operational KPIs.
Governance & Compliance

Ensure adherence to tight internal control standards.

Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

Implement audit recommendations and maintain risk management frameworks.
Systems & Process Optimization

Ensure effective use of ERP systems (preferably SAP).

Lead digital transformation initiatives within the finance function.

Guarantee data accuracy and integrity across financial systems.
Business Partnership & Transformation

Collaborate with operations, sales, and HQ teams on strategic initiatives.

Support commercial teams with financial analysis and client profitability.

Lead financial aspects of business development and transformation projects.
Team Leadership & Development

Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.

Identify and develop internal talent to support succession planning.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Stakeholder Communication & Support

Provide the Board and local management with relevant financial insights and reports.

Support operations and sales in negotiations and financial decision-making.

Anticipate legislative changes and assess their financial impact.
YOUR BACKGROUND

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/ACCA preferred.

Minimum 10 years of experience in leading financial roles.

Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, ideally in shipping/logistics.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Fluent in English, other language an asset.
