At Amalga, we’re looking for a Data Engineer to help build a data infrastructure from scratch.
This role focuses on designing and implementing a centralized data platform in the cloud, integrating multiple SaaS tools, and creating a solid foundation for analytics and reporting across the company.
It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building systems, working with data pipelines, and taking ownership of technical decisions in an environment where things are still being defined.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a cloud-based data platform (AWS or GCP)
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Python
- Integrate data from multiple SaaS platforms via APIs
- Define data architecture, including data models and transformation layers
- Structure data for reporting and analytics use cases
- Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and priorities
Requirements
- Experience with Python and SQL
- Experience building data pipelines and working with APIs
- Strong understanding of data modeling (e.g., star vs snowflake schema)
- Background in data engineering (not only analytics)
- Ability to work in environments where systems are built from scratch
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools
Work Setup
- Hybrid. Candidates based in Monterrey or Mexico City are preferred.
