GM Financial International Operations conducts business in Latin America and China. International Operations offers a wide range of wholesale and retail automotive financing products to dealers and their customers. The strength of the international business lies in its ability to tailor its products to meet unique dealer needs, consumer preferences and national requirements in local markets. Latin American country operations include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.
The Operational Excellence Intern supports continuous improvement initiatives for Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru across the organization by assisting in process analysis, documentation, and optimization efforts. Operational Excellence intern works closely with Operations teams to help identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, standardize processes, and support the execution of improvement projects.
The Operational Excellence Intern will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the key aspects and frameworks for leadership and project management, while supporting process reviews and improvement projects using Lean methodologies and digital tools.
In this role you will:
Support continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen.
- Support different areas by resolving questions and providing guidance to enable accurate process mapping and documentation using business process management tools (BPM and Nintex).
- Support on ensuring clean-up/update of the repository.
- Support the update of Operational Excellence materials to ensure that templates and dashboards displayed are up to date.
Support tracking of improvement initiatives, including progress of process mapping, quality assurance and training activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different countries in Latin America.
Assist in preparing presentations, summaries, and communication materials for stakeholders.
Support the maintenance of Operational Excellence standards and governance practices.
What makes You an ideal candidate?
Active student of bachelor related to Engineering or Administration fields. With at least 12 months prior to graduation day.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Good interpersonal and organization skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage reporting.
MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt and/or Green Belt (optional)
Oral and written proficiency in the following: Spanish and English.
