Job Title: H&E / H&F Network Support Technician – IDF Build Deployment
Job Summary
We’re hiring on-site H&E/H&F technicians for a short-term IDF build project in data center environments. Role is limited to hands-on installation, cabling, and physical verification. No configuration, troubleshooting, or ongoing support required.
Scope of Work
You’ll work in teams of 8-12 to deploy multiple Intermediate Distribution Frame [IDF] locations:
Core Tasks per IDF:
- - Rack and cabinet mounting of network infrastructure equipment
- - Deployment and routing of power, network, and fiber optic cabling
- - Installation and connection of RPDU cabling
- - Equipment patching and physical connectivity
- - Structured cable dressing, cable management, and labeling to project standards
- - Device placement/installation for designated hardware
- - Basic visual verification of installed connections
- - Maintain clean, organized installation practices
- *Deployment Order:* MGFX → T2 → Optical → RPDU Cabling
Deliverables
- - Completed physical installation of all assigned equipment and cabling per IDF
- - Proper cable management and labeling
- - Clean handover of installed IDF environments
- - Installation completion confirmation per location
Required Skills
- - 3+ years experience with rack & stack deployments in data centers
- - Understanding of structured cabling standards and best practices
- - Ability to read rack elevations, patching matrices, and floor plans
- - Hands-on with fiber optic and copper connectivity, hand tools, cable testers, labeling systems
- - Basic networking knowledge: switches, patching, port ID
- - Understanding of airflow management and cable containment
- - Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined data center spaces
Preferred Experience
- - Work in Microsoft, hyperscale, or other hyperscale data centers
- - IDF/MDF deployments
- - Hardware exposure: Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Dell, HPE, Supermicro
- - Familiarity with data center access controls and procedures
