Main Responsibilities
- Leads, sets up, and controls the site EHS management system covering Safety, Machine Conformity, Ergonomics, Working Conditions, Environmental Protection, Energy Management, and Occupational Health.
- Acts as Management Representative for the Environmental Management System, ensuring its implementation, maintenance, performance, and continuous improvement in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, and OPmobility standards.
- Owns EHS processes within the IMS (process reviews, KPI management, procedures update, corrective and preventive actions, and resource allocation), ensuring alignment with evolving legal and corporate requirements.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable legal, corporate, and insurance requirements, contributing to the prevention and protection of employees and site assets.
- Monitors EHS performance indicators (TF2, TSV, safety observations, risk assessments, legal compliance, machine conformity, OPAD, environmental KPIs such as energy consumption, CO₂ emissions, and waste generation) and drives associated action plans.
- Analyzes accidents, incidents, and occupational illnesses; defines and follows up corrective and preventive actions with management.
- Ensures implementation of the EHS control plan (training, inspections, monitoring, and maintenance activities).
- Leads internal audits (ISO 14001), ensures proper follow-up and closure of non-conformities, and reports system performance to plant management.
- Serve as Internal Auditor for ISO 45001 & ISO 50001, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of management systems.
- Lead actions to close ISO 45001 and FM Global non-conformities, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Evaluates working conditions and site compliance; advises management on EHS risks and improvement opportunities.
- Ensures proper management of hazardous substances and MSDS compliance.
- Leads emergency preparedness and response programs, including coordination with Maintenance for firefighting systems inspections and testing.
- Promotes EHS culture through prevention initiatives (e.g., safety observations programs, ergonomics, safety ambassadors, safety campaigns).
- Defines and validates PPE requirements and ensures discipline in usage.
- Lead sustainability programs aligned with corporate and regulatory expectations.
- Participate in the development of new projects, equipment, and machinery from an HSE perspective, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Manage contractor activities, ensuring compliance with EHS requirements and company standards.
- Manages EHS budget and CAPEX, ensuring optimization of resources.
- Ensures timely and accurate internal and external reporting; liaises with authorities, insurance companies, and external stakeholders.
- Leads, develops, and trains the EHS team; supports cross-functional collaboration and participates in site-wide initiatives.
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Environmental, Chemical, Industrial, or equivalent).
- Previous experience managing an EHS department within an industrial/manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001; IATF 16949 is a plus).
- Experience with Integrated Management Systems (IMS), audits, risk assessment, and KPI management.
- ISO 14001 Internal or Lead Auditor certification is a plus.
- Bilingual (English required).
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to influence, communicate effectively, and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrates leadership, autonomy, rigor, and a continuous improvement mindset.
