We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join our remote IT team as an Independent Contractor. This role is ideal for a proactive and experienced professional who can handle advanced troubleshooting, manage and improve IT infrastructures, and ensure the stability, security, and scalability of both internal systems and client environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced Tier 3 remote troubleshooting for network, hardware, and software issues
- Manage and optimize Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and cloud environments
- Administer servers, user accounts, permissions, and security policies
- Design and implement infrastructure improvements for performance and scalability
- Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and routing
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and endpoint security
- Lead or assist in incident response and security-related events
- Document configurations, procedures, and technical environments
- Support onboarding and access management across multiple environments
- Proactively improve workflows, reliability, and security standards
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and data protection standards
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or MSP environments
- Strong networking knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, Windows & macOS environments)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms
- Experience managing backup solutions and disaster recovery processes
- Familiarity with automation or system integrations (Zoho, Monday, or similar tools)
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks is REQUIRED (the candidate must be comfortable supporting users and troubleshooting QuickBooks-related issues).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
- Strong English communication and documentation skills (B2–C1)
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fully remote environment
