We are looking for a Lead Data Software Engineer to become part of our Team within the broader Investment Systems organization.
This position will center on architecting, building, and maintaining technology solutions that drive liquid credit investment workflows, encompassing trade processing, reporting, and data management. You will partner closely with portfolio managers, traders, operations personnel, and fellow engineering groups to develop scalable, high-performing systems that underpin essential investment operations.
Responsibilities

Architect, build, and support dependable software solutions that enable liquid credit investment workflows

Connect data across the different systems used in credit investing to guarantee consistency and dependable information exchange

Leverage hands-on knowledge of SQL Server (2016 or newer) to create and support database-centered solutions

Partner with multidisciplinary teams, including front office, operations, and product stakeholders, to synchronize on needs and deliverables

Fine-tune database performance and protect data accuracy and integrity throughout all managed systems

Contribute to system architecture conversations and help shape and improve engineering best practices

Investigate and address production incidents quickly to reduce disruption to the business

Produce readable, scalable, and thoroughly documented code that promotes long-term supportability
Requirements

No fewer than 5 years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on data or backend development

Minimum of 1 year of experience leading and managing development teams

Robust hands-on expertise with SQL, covering query tuning, stored procedures, and data modeling

Verified ability to design and improve reporting solutions through SSRS combined with SQL-based data models

Advanced skill in developing and refining complex stored procedures and queries to meet demanding business requirements

Strong grounding in software engineering essentials, such as data structures, object-oriented programming, and system design
-
Outstanding communication abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

Comfort working within a fast-moving, team-driven environment

Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills directed at intricate technical issues

Careful attention to detail together with the ability to juggle several priorities at once

Confident English proficiency at B2 level or higher, in both written and spoken forms
Nice to have

Background in financial services or investment systems

Working knowledge of Python for data handling or backend development activities

Familiarity with Allvue's cloud-native platform (Everest), especially the trade and order management components

Experience with AWS, including cloud infrastructure, services, and deployment approaches

Awareness of the trade lifecycle, order management systems, or portfolio management systems

Practical exposure to modern software development approaches such as CI/CD, DevOps, and microservices architectures
