About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer in Mexico. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, maximizing operational efficiency, and leading a high-performing maintenance organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical background, excellent people management skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead all maintenance operations for production equipment, facilities, and utilities, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) objectives.
- Drive rapid resolution of equipment failures through structured problem-solving and sustainable root cause corrective actions.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Purchasing to support manufacturing objectives and improve plant performance.
- Manage maintenance planning, resource allocation, spare parts inventory, and external service providers.
- Monitor and improve key maintenance indicators, including OEE, downtime, MTTR, MTBF, and maintenance costs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, productivity, and cost optimization.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and applicable legal requirements.
- Support internal and external audits while maintaining compliance with automotive quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (90%+), both written and verbal.
- Minimum of 8 years of maintenance experience within the Tier 1 automotive industry.
- Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, TPM, OEE, Root Cause Analysis, and IATF 16949 requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Experience with automotive safety products (seat belts, airbags, or restraint systems) is considered a strong advantage.
