Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Sales Engineer will serve as a senior technical adviser to merchants, acquirers, processors, payment facilitators, and technology partners in Mexico. The role will support Sales and Account Management by leading technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, feasibility assessments, and technical validation for Cybersource and Visa Acceptance Solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead client discovery, architecture workshops, technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-value activities.
Design secure and scalable Card Present, Card Not Present, and omnichannel payment solutions.
Document business and technical requirements, architectures, dependencies, risks, product gaps, and integration decisions.
Provide technical support for proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and Technical Validation Documents.
Support Card Present solutions involving Acceptance Devices, payment terminals, Tap to Pay, semi-integrated architectures, processor connectivity, device boarding, testing, and certification considerations.
Incorporate Mexico-specific acquiring, processing, payment-method, certification, and operational requirements into solution recommendations.
Support Agentic Commerce and Intelligent Commerce Connect opportunities by assessing merchant readiness, designing agent-enabled commerce and payment flows, and supporting client pilots.
Collaborate with Product, Solution Architecture, Client Success, Implementation, Risk, processors, acquirers, and technology partners.
Prepare clear technical handoffs to Client Success and Implementation teams.
Capture pilot learnings and create reusable architectures, playbooks, demonstrations, checklists, and enablement materials.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Eight or more years of relevant experience in technical presales, solution architecture, payments consulting, or another client-facing technical role.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated experience with Card Present payment solutions, including POS or terminal integration, EMV payment flows, processor connectivity, device integration, or certification.
Experience gathering requirements and designing enterprise payment solutions.
Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, SDKs, integration architectures, and technical troubleshooting.
Strong presentation, whiteboarding, documentation, and executive communication skills.
Ability to work with Sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders on complex opportunities.
Fluent Spanish and English.
Availability to travel according to business and client needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Ten or more years of experience in payments, enterprise technology, consulting, or solution sales.
Strong knowledge of Cybersource, Visa Acceptance Solutions, or comparable payment gateway and fraud-management platforms.
Experience with payment terminals, Acceptance Devices, Tap to Pay, semi-integrated solutions, mobile POS, or omnichannel architectures.
Knowledge of tokenization, network tokens, authentication, fraud management, recurring payments, and digital wallets.
Experience supporting merchants, acquirers, processors, payment facilitators, ISVs, or commerce platforms.
Familiarity with Mexico’s payment-processing, acquiring, and certification ecosystem.
Experience leading technical pilots, proofs of concept, or new-product introductions.
Familiarity with Agentic Commerce, AI-assisted shopping, Intelligent Commerce Connect, commerce APIs, agent identity, or agent-initiated payments.
Experience creating solution architectures, demonstrations, technical proposals, RFP responses, and reusable enablement assets.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
