GENERAL PURPOSE
IT DBA specialist is a professional position with responsibilities to operate, manage, maintain and support the databases in YAZAKI landscape. This position has a role key in the communication and collaboration with the Application and Infrastructure areas to assure DB performance is according to service levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning and implementation of preventive maintenance.
- Definition and implementation of backup and recovery strategies for databases.
- Ensure and maintain the correct assignment of access in the different database instances.
- Design, plan and implement the continuous upgrading of environments to new versions.
- Cost Optimization and budget planning for the correct distribution of resources such as licensing costs, monitoring tools, etc.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management for Incidents related to database
environments by optimizing parameters, source code or database objects.
- Define and implement checkpoints to ensure the correct monitoring of databases to
maintain the agreed level of operation with the Business.
- Follow the IT Change Management Procedure YNCA, for the implementation of any change in the
Database Production environment.
- Define and Maintain Indicators for the Database environment in order to identify trends and define actions if necessary.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS
- This position is part of the IT Infrastructure Server, Storage and DB group.
- Interaction with IT Infrastructure and Applications team for support or incident resolution
SKILLS REQUIRED
A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field, with a minimum of 10 years professional experience in technology support operations, including experience troubleshooting and supporting computer applications and operating systems.
- Strong knowledge on Windows and Linux OS
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
- Knowledge of Collaboration tools like Teams or SharePoint.
- ITIL knowledge and experience (Incident and Change Management), certification is desirable
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communications skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Must be proactive and have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, end users, and with external vendors.
- Excellent customer-service skills required.
- Fluent English 85%, any other language is a plus
