Position Summary
The New York Client Legal Support Specialist provides legal operations and contract support for U.S.-based legal matters, with a primary focus on New York and Eastern Time coverage. This role supports NDA review, contract administration, document organization, negotiation workflows, and legal operations activities. The ideal candidate has a legal background, strong English communication skills, and experience supporting contract review and legal processes in a professional environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support U.S.-facilitated legal matters during Eastern Time business hours.
- Review non-complex NDAs and standard commercial agreements according to established guidelines.
- Assist with contract intake and document organization processes.
- Track contract versions, redlines, approvals, and status updates.
- Support negotiation workflows using approved procedures and playbooks.
- Identify non-standard clauses and escalate issues appropriately.
- Prepare summaries of contract provisions, risks, and outstanding items.
- Coordinate with legal stakeholders regarding contract workflows and documentation.
- Maintain accurate matter tracking and contract records.
- Handle confidential legal documents securely and professionally.
- Support legal operations and process documentation initiatives.
- Assist with meeting turnaround expectations for client requests.
- Provide administrative support related to contract lifecycle activities.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of legal support, contract administration, legal operations, or related experience.
- Experience reviewing NDAs, contracts, commercial agreements, or legal documentation.
- Strong understanding of contract review and document management processes.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong legal writing and document review abilities.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based clients or legal teams preferred.
- Ability to identify contract issues and escalate appropriately.
- Strong organizational and matter-tracking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and document management tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
