At Eni , we are looking for a Senior Cost Recovery Accountant to join Eni Mexico, S.de R.L. de C.V. in Mexico City . You will be responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with contractual obligations related to national content requirements, preparing and coordinating monthly and annual reports for submission to SIPAC, and liaising with internal departments to gather and validate the information required by regulatory authorities. You will also provide guidance on cost recoverability matters, support internal stakeholders on compliance-related activities, and oversee the control and management of approved budgets to ensure alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Main responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports, information, and documentation to regulatory bodies (CNH, FMP, Hacienda, etc.).
- Prepare and submit Costos, Gastos e Inversiones (CGI) reports to the Fondo Mexicano del Petróleo (FMP) in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Develop working papers and SIPAC templates, gathering and analysing data from ERP systems and other internal sources.
- Review supporting documentation from internal departments and suppliers to ensure compliance with CGI reporting requirements.
- Monitor and respond to notifications received through regulatory platforms, including SIPAC and CNH.
- Advise internal stakeholders on cost recovery matters and ensure appropriate cost treatment across company operations.
- Identify and resolve cost classification issues prior to regulatory reporting.
- Perform monthly CGI-to-budget reconciliations and analyse variances against the approved work programme.
- Coordinate and support compliance with National Content requirements.
- Provide cost and activity information to the Joint Venture team to support monthly partner billings.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on reporting obligations.
- Support audits, clarifications, adjustments, and other requests from regulatory authorities.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Tax Manager and Cost Recovery Coordinator.
Skills and experience required:
- Degree in Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline; additional Business Administration studies preferred for Engineering graduates.
- Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry, particularly exploration and production.
- Good knowledge of the Hydrocarbons Revenue Law, Hydrocarbons Law, Cost Recovery Guidelines, Exploration and Extraction Contracts, and FMP regulations.
- Experience with cost recovery, regulatory compliance, and national content reporting.
- Familiarity with FMP and other regulatory reporting systems and platforms.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, invoicing, and tax requirements.
- Strong IT skills and proficiency with business applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Fluent in English.
